Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Underground Utility Foreman
to lead crews on active job sites. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of underground utility construction, blueprint reading, trench excavation, and shoring installation. This is a hands-on, working foreman role, not a supervisory-only position. Responsibilities Conduct onsite meetings with customers to plan and coordinate construction activities. Enforce company safety standards and compliance guidelines. Perform onsite layout from blueprints, including measuring elevations from benchmarks and profiles. Maintain a strong focus on production, quality, and job site details. Oversee excavation, shoring standards, and traffic control organization. Scout job sites for utility locates and prepare sites for work. Coordinate with project managers to maintain schedules and meet target completion dates. Schedule and track equipment, tools, and materials for each project. Shift priorities as needed to meet project demands. Track and measure completed projects for billing purposes. Represent the company as a point of contact with clients. Complete daily safety pre-task plans and weekly crew time sheets. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in construction, preferably underground utility projects. Hands-on experience with trench excavation and shoring installation. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications. OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred. Willingness to travel and work overnight as needed.
