The Cancer Center of Kansas (CCK) is seeking a full‑time, on‑site Registered Nurse to join our team in Newton, KS. The typical work week is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM with no major holidays, no on‑call and no weekends. Under general supervision, this nurse provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. The role requires knowledge of physiological, psychological and developmental differences in the patient population across all life stages. The nurse collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to assess and manage patient/family needs, supports patient and family education, and provides psychosocial support. The role also adheres to the US Oncology compliance program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Responsibilities

Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices. Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding status and medical history. Collect and record nursing assessment and interventions. Review and report the results of the health status assessment and physical examination, pertinent laboratory data, radiographic data and psychosocial assessment of assigned patients to the provider and take appropriate action based on standard or verbal orders. Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material. Provide psychosocial support to patients and families. Maintain patient confidentiality. Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician. Administer all medications/blood products using correct medication/blood product, dosage/amount, route, time and technique. Assure pre‑authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies where applicable. Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient, assessing labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems and symptom management. Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports and maintain central line catheter devices. Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided. Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture. Maintain work environment, restock supply area as needed, follow OSHA guidelines when handling cytotoxic agents and biohazardous waste, maintain disinfect protocols, maintain equipment according to quality control standards. Facilitate clinical operations and patient care, manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record the information in the patient chart, assist physician with exams and procedures, maintain efficient and appropriate patient flow in and out of exam rooms, facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals and future appointments for patients. Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient chart. As necessary, facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care. Assist patients in locating available community resources. Assist and collaborate with clinical research. Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants. Provide nursing coverage for the satellite offices as needed, participate in professional development activities, maintain current licensure and continuing medical education, demonstrate knowledge of ambulatory infusion pump use and maintenance, clean pumps after use, provide instruction to the patient and caregiver in use of the pump at home, ensure compliance with policies and procedures and attend required, applicable meetings. Keep current licensure and requirements for the same including continuing medical education, remain current on all compliance requirements, adhere to confidentiality, state, federal and HIPAA laws and guidelines regarding patient records and information, ensure all applicable policies and procedures of the company and Network are followed. * Specialty Specific Responsibilities for Transplant RNs

– Provide nursing care from initial patient contact through high‑dose chemotherapy followed by stem cell rescue to follow‑up care post stem cell rescue. Manage symptoms/toxicities/health abnormalities related to intensive high‑dose therapy, stem cell rescue and rehabilitation following rescue in collaboration with transplant physician and supervisor. Report data to company for transplant related registries and appropriate bodies, incorporate company transplant network recommendations into clinical practice as assigned. * Specialty Specific Responsibilities for Primary Nurses assigned to a physician

– Manage medication refill requests from pharmacies, document details in patient charts. Advocate for patients, support patient empowerment in the care process. Facilitate referrals as part of the care plan, treatment course, or advance care planning in collaboration with scheduling teams and as directed by a provider. Act as patient liaison between healthcare providers and patients. Assist patients in accessing community resources as needed. Assume additional duties as assigned, including infusion room nursing coverage. Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred. RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Must maintain continuing education requirements. 0–3 years nursing experience, preferably at least one year in oncology. Physical Requirements
