DESCRIPTION OF POSITION/RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
The Clinical Nurse Educator coordinates and participates in the orientation process of new employees.
They also coordinate and maintain patent/family/staff education programs.
The Clinical Nurse Educator coordinates and participates in community/screening programs as well as developing and revising policies and procedures for Patient Care Services.
Lastly, they communicate with other departments and disciplines in providing quality care to patients and/or family.
SUPERVISION: Reports directly to Director of Nursing
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
BSN required.
5 years preferred clinical experience, 3 years required.
Must be adaptable to change, be decisive, and demonstrate foresight.
Exhibits organizational and leadership ability.
Ability to communicate with patient, family, peers and medical personnel
Current RN License in Louisiana or multi-state compact license.
Must maintain current ACLS, BLS as well as any certifications required by department.
