Role Overview The Charge RN is responsible for overseeing the total health care delivery system in the assigned nursing unit, including nursing diagnosis, goal setting, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. The Charge RN provides direct supervision of patient teaching and ensures ancillary personnel only perform services for which they are qualified.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise the total health care delivery system in the unit, ensuring compliance with policies & procedures, and coordinate patient care with other departments.
Monitor nursing services, maintain accurate records, and identify potential problems, proposing corrective actions as needed.
Assist with staff orientation, training, and evaluations; coordinate staffing levels to meet contractual requirements.
Ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and appearance of the unit and maintain appropriate levels of medical equipment and supplies.
Maintain a professional atmosphere and attend monthly staff meetings as directed by Director of Nursing or Administrator.
Qualifications & Requirements
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Prefer a minimum of one‑year clinical experience.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
Current CPR certification.
