Position Summary The Mental Health Professional will serve as a core member of a multidisciplinary team on the Behavioral Health Unit, working collaboratively with other disciplines to provide proactive patient care. Responsibilities include crisis stabilization, intake and ongoing evaluations, and consultation with in‑house and community services.
Essential Functions
Provide crisis stabilization and conduct intakes and ongoing evaluations.
Offer consultation to in‑house staff and community services.
Participate in monthly behavioral health calls with the medical team to determine comprehensive treatment plans.
Conduct risk assessments of inmates and coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams, including medical staff, community providers, psychiatric hospitals, and corrections.
Assist in discharge planning and program goal implementation.
Prepare documentation, records, and reports.
Utilize clinical skills such as prioritizing treatment needs, crisis management, brief interventions (CBT and Motivational Interviewing).
Co‑lead group, one‑on‑one, and crisis therapy sessions.
Make independent clinical decisions while seeking supervisory guidance as needed.
Minimum Requirements
Licensed eligible or Master’s level Mental Health Counselor or Social Worker (LICSW or LCSW).
Capability to administer assessments, make clinical decisions, provide mental health treatment.
Holder of a LCSW, LICSW, or LMHC license.
Graduate from a Master’s level program.
At least one year of employment in a social work capacity in a public or private agency or equivalent experience.
