Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical
Portsmouth Regional Hospital is a 240‑bed acute care facility in Portsmouth, NH, serving communities throughout New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts. The hospital is an ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center, a Comprehensive Stroke Center, and hosts a robust heart and vascular program.
Job Summary and Qualifications As a Registered Nurse, you will deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in accordance with nursing standards and hospital protocols, collaborating with medical providers and the care team. You will assess, monitor, and manage patients in accordance with the “Assess‑Perform‑Teach‑Manage” nursing model and advocate for patients, families, and caregivers.
What you will do in this role
Assess the patient’s condition at admission and during each shift, promptly identifying and reporting changes in status.
Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s) and ensure thorough documentation of care administration.
Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic response, and take appropriate action for unintended responses.
Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipate needs, and resolve issues.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical condition, treatment plan, medications, side effects, and follow‑up measures, ensuring understanding.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
Associate degree in Nursing (or higher).
Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of start date.
