About the Unit Emergency Department (ED)

The Emergency Department at Sentara Obici Hospital provides an exciting, fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. With 30+ treatment rooms and a skilled team of emergency nurses, physicians, and techs, the ED cares for patients across the spectrum, from minor injuries to life‑threatening emergencies. The department is well-equipped with advanced technology and rapid response protocols to ensure timely, effective care. Nurses in the ED are highly collaborative, quick-thinking, and supported by leadership that values innovation, safety, and professional growth. It’s an excellent place to build and refine critical assessment and triage skills while delivering lifesaving care to the Suffolk community.

We are hiring for ALL SHIFTS, with a particular need for NIGHT SHIFT nurses who are ready to make a meaningful impact in critical care.

Qualifications

Current RN license or eligibility in the state of Virginia

BLS required (ACLS, PALS, or other certifications as applicable to unit)

Previous acute care experience preferred (new grads welcome for select positions)
