BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN – Child/Adolescents
Rockford Center is a 138‑bed mental health facility located in Newark, DE.
It is the only child inpatient behavioral health facility in Delaware and serves New Castle County and northern Maryland.
Job Summary The Mental Health Technician (MHT) for the Child and Adolescent Unit will work five 8‑hour shifts per week, including every other weekend.
Shifts are available: 3 pm–11:30 pm or 11 am–7:30 pm.
A mandatory 2‑week orientation (8:30 a.m.–5 p.m.) is required.
Responsibilities
Monitor unit patients and complete rounds as assigned
Participate in treatment planning
Assist in the admission process
Orient new patients to the unit and their program
Plan and prepare for group therapy sessions
Maintain patient, program, department and related documentation

Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in psychology or similar (or equivalent experience) with adults in a behavioral health setting.
Strong communication, customer service, organizational and clinical skills.
Two (2) years of related experience with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness (preferred).
CPR certification and completion of Hand‑with‑Care training during orientation.
