Speech-Language Pathologist/Aural Rehab Team Lead – Outpatient Pediatrics – FT – Days – $15K Sign on Bonus – Coral Springs – JDCH Location:

Memorial Rehabilitation Institute provides highly specialized care ranging from complex multiple trauma, stroke and brain injury to physical and speech therapy. Inpatient care is offered at Memorial Regional Hospital South, with outpatient care available in five different locations. We also have a home health team and resources for long‑term care at Memorial Manor, while also offering therapy for pediatric developmental diagnosis through Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.

Summary This SLP will be part of the Cochlear Implant Team who will be evaluating and treating the Aural Rehab patients and some traditional speech and language patients as well. This SLP will also serve as the lead clinician for the other AVT SLPs in the system. Listening and Spoken Language Specialist (LSLS) Certification is required.

Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital rehabilitation center provides a kid‑friendly and family‑centered approach to rehabilitation. We provide one‑on‑one individualized care with highly experienced pediatric therapists that specialize in sensory integration, neuromotor development, feeding, apraxia and much more. We treat a wide range of ages and diagnoses in five outpatient locations in Broward & Palm Beach counties, support the inpatient acute care therapy needs of the hospital in addition to the six‑bed inpatient rehab unit and participate in several multidisciplinary clinics with our physicians.

Responsibilities

Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to issues identified, required frequency of treatments, and involves the patient/family.

Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.

Supervises and mentors activities of peers, fellows and other support personnel.

Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.

Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support resources.
