Overview Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital is hiring an Echocardiographer for the non‑invasive cardiac lab. This is a full‑time, day shift position located in Harrisonburg, VA.
Sign on Bonus Up to $20,000 for qualified candidates.
Hours Monday‑Friday, day shift, with call every 7th week to include the weekend. The Echocardiographer is off the preceding Friday and following Monday of their call weekend. Must live within a 30‑minute drive of the hospital for call purposes.
Responsibilities Perform adult 2D/3D transthoracic and transesophageal echo, myocardial strain, contrast, agitated saline (bubble study), exercise stress echo and dobutamine stress echo. Generate preliminary reports in ProSolv. Work closely with invasive cardiology (structural heart, electrophysiology, diagnostic/interventional cath) and cardiothoracic surgery. At 9,500 procedures annually, each team member is expected to perform about 7 exams per day.
Education
High School Diploma required, Associate Degree preferred
Certification/Licensure
RDCS, RCCS, RCS, or ACS
BLS
Experience
Adult 2D/3D transthoracic and transesophageal echo, myocardial strain, contrast, agitated saline, exercise stress and dobutamine stress echo required
Communication with patients and providers required
Provide accurate diagnostic information required
Maintains up‑to‑date knowledge of echocardiographic techniques, equipment, and industry standards required
