Position Summary RSI is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee general accounting processes, including government and project accounting, project billing, financial reporting, balance sheet management and reconciliations, intercompany/affiliate accounting, and cash management. Responsible for overseeing accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure adherence to regulations and organization guidelines.
Primary Responsibilities
Record various types of journal entries (e.g., accrual, reversal, reclass, and adjustment)
Review, prepare, and record intercompany transactions with parent company
Ensure an accurate and timely monthly financial closing process
Perform monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts
Support Sales and Use tax reporting and payment
Compile/analyze financial information at the direction of the Controller and Vice President
Ensure accurate project accounting in coordination with project manager and staff
Compile Customer project billing and support and follow up on any queries
Ensure proper revenue recognition is calculated through WIP report
Participate in Reporting Package development for parent company, consisting of Trial Balance, Financial Statements, Supplemental Schedules, and reconciled WIP Report
Assist Controller in preparing and completing the annual financial statement audit
Ensure all accounting and financial activities comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Company policies and procedures
Collaborate with others in accounting and finance to support overall department goals and objectives
Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
Support account payable, accounts receivable, and procurement functions
Responsible for the accounting and analysis of capital expenditure
Any other tasks at the direction of the Controller and Vice President
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
Seven (7) + years of accounting experience required
Job Knowledge/Qualifications
Strong financial background is necessary
Detail‑oriented, analytical, and strong communication skills
Advanced computer skills, including Excel
Preferred experience with government and project accounting
Preferred experience with Deltek Costpoint
Work may be required outside normal business hours and sometimes on short notice
