We are seeking a Senior Banker to enhance the origination and execution of transactions across the Latam Infrastructure, Energy, and Finance (IEF) sectors, including power and renewables, telecommunications, natural resources, transportation, and mining. The ideal candidate will possess strong and well-established relationships with clients in these sectors throughout Latin America. In addition to originating and executing lending and advisory project finance transactions, the candidate will be responsible for generating cross-selling opportunities across M&A, DCM, leveraged loans, derivatives, and other product areas. As such, a deep understanding and experience in these areas are essential. The candidate will have both client-facing and internal responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
In coordination with the Head of IEF Latam, originate transactions across IEF sectors in Latin America.
Execute project finance lending and advisory mandates within the region.
Collaborate consistently with the Head of IEF Latam and Coverage to engage with the firm’s clients in the IEF sectors.
Partner with Coverage, DCM, ASF, and PJ Solomon to identify and capitalize on market opportunities.
Demonstrate the ability to originate and lead lending and advisory mandates for IEF transactions across all sectors and regions, with a special emphasis on Latin America.
Work closely with Syndications to identify optimal distribution channels. Collaborate with Syndications to implement the bank's O2D strategy: review market conditions, assess liquidity and underwriting strategies, and define paths to achieve the bank's final hold and sell-down objectives.
Engage with key product groups and partners—Coverage, DCM, ASF, Derivatives, and PJ Solomon—to maximize cross-selling opportunities for the firm.
Collaborate with the Head of Infrastructure & Energy Finance Latam to track and ensure that fee targets established in the budget are met.
Oversee the timely and high-quality submission of proposed transactions to Ficom, BizCom, and the Credit Committee.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Sciences, or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in infrastructure financing, advisory, or a related area; or
MBA or comparable graduate degree, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in infrastructure financing, advisory, or a related area.
Must be bilingual in Spanish & English
Series 7 and 79 licenses are required.
