The Indiana Association of School Business Officials is devoted to the school business management profession. IASBO provides our members with a comprehensive range of professional development activities, services, and advocacy through innovative, timely, and relevant programming.

Position Overview The Accounting and Benefits Administrator manages all day-to-day financial operations of the association, including accounting, payroll, benefits, compliance, reporting, and audit coordination. The selected candidate will join a collaborative, hard-working team that is driven by a shared passion for providing valuable resources to school business professionals for the benefit of K-12 students across the state of Indiana. IASBO's team consists of an Executive Director, an active Board of Directors, a Director of Member Services, a Professional Development Coordinator, and a Professional Development Specialist. Our small team works well together, supporting one another to achieve the organization’s mission. The Accounting and Benefits Administrator will have an important role on this team by managing all financial aspects of the association and collaborating closely with team members.

Responsibilities

Perform all accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, bank deposits, and financial reporting.

Manage employee payroll and benefits.

Prepare timely and accurate financial reports.

Reconcile revenue, pricing, and payment information within existing association management software to ensure accuracy.

Export financial data from association management software to association accounting software.

Provide data for use in developing the annual budget.

Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.

Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process.

Resolve invoicing and payment issues with members.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Minimum of 3–5 years of hands‑on accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit or education-related organization.

Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks preferred).

Proficiency in payroll processing and administration of employee benefits.

Demonstrated experience with full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and month‑end and year‑end close.

Experience preparing financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.

Ability to work independently in a small office environment and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.

High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to confidentiality.

Experience working with external auditors and supporting the annual audit process.

Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
