Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Pediatrics

Overall Responsibility Pediatric Healthcare Associates is seeking a Pediatric Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. The LPN is primarily responsible for providing safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients from infancy through young adulthood, and other duties as assigned. The full‑time position requires working 30 to 37.5 hours per week (day shifts, evenings, one weekend per month and holidays as needed; shift differentials are offered for evenings, weekends, and holidays).
Essential Skills & Abilities
Process X‑Ray orders
Process prescription refills faxed from pharmacies and monitor office prescription refill line
Perform checks for crash cart monthly
Complete DCF forms
Read, record, and process all cultures
Monitor clinician’s schedules and bring areas of concern to a manager
Monitor and complete tasks for all offices in EHR
Scribe with clinicians (unless not requested)
Review and prioritize phone and task messages for physicians
Answer patients’ questions and respond to requests
Dress wounds, give injections, and provide immunizations
Educate patients on asthma medications & equipment, Epi pen, treatments, etc.
Review charts when needed for transfers, medication requests, etc.
Reorder vaccines, medicine, or oxygen when necessary
VCF ordering and supply monitoring
Conduct lab tests and procedures
Triage
Monitor injection list
Responsible for reviewing/responding to all communications via PHA email, Elevate, task, etc.
All other duties as required or assigned
Requirements
Graduated from an accredited LPN program with a current license in good standing in the State of Connecticut
Previous nursing experience (preferably in pediatrics)
EHR experience
Experience administering injections
Anatomy knowledge
Medication administration
