Hourly Pay Range:
$24.86 – $37.29. The rate is based on experience and qualifications.
Position Highlights
Position: Mental Health Associate I
Sign‑on bonus: $1,500 (0–3 years of experience) / $3,000 (4+ years of experience)
Location: LOH
Part‑time: 20 hrs/week
Hours: PM/Night Shift
A Brief Overview The Mental Health Associate I provides direct patient care to individuals with mental health disorders. They perform treatment planning, implement interventions, and facilitate groups within assigned programs, ensuring a safe environment and accurate documentation.
What You Will Do
Facilitate didactic, educational, and community groups; encourage patient participation; supervise to ensure safety.
Provide one‑to‑one supervision; conduct unit rounds; keep real‑time precautions records.
Orient new patients to unit, program, and milieu; establish rapport; hand off information during transitions.
Participate in treatment planning with the interdisciplinary team; suggest plan modifications and contribute to discharge planning.
Complete patient, program, and department documentation.
Perform clerical and administrative tasks supporting department operations.
Monitor and report patient progress; communicate with shift charge and families.
What You Will Need Education and/or Experience Required
A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a behavioral health field – no prior experience required.
A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a non‑behavioral health field – minimum one year of behavioral health experience.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Maintain professional boundaries; willingness to seek supervision.
Education and/or Experience Preferred
Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology.
Teaching skills or experience assisting with activities of daily living.
Prior experience with therapeutic limit‑setting and milieu management.
Licensure and/or Certification Required
Valid driver’s license if duties are performed off‑site; personal vehicle use requires automobile liability coverage.
CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification within 90 days of hire.
Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
