Job Summary and Responsibilities
The Clinical Coordinator-Enterostomy is a Registered Nurse with specialized education in the care of individuals with wounds, ostomies, pressure ulcers and related skin problems. The primary role is to assist the medical staff and patient care team in achieving the best possible outcome for the patient. Primary expertise is in wound, ostomy and continence management. The position is responsible for providing direction and coordination for a specific patient population from premature infants to geriatric patients with disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary and integumentary systems such as complex wounds, ostomies, fistulae, dermal ulcers, tubes, incontinence or actual or potential skin breakdown appropriate to the ages of those patients served. The Clinical Coordinator will collaborate with other members of the health care team to ensure continuity of care during rehabilitation. This position reports to the CNE or designee.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience.
1 year (within the last 5 years) recent wound care (ET) experience.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a health‑related area, or current enrollment in a Bachelor's Degree program with an education plan approved by the CNE that will allow completion of the program within three years.
Good assessment, teaching, communicative (verbal, non‑verbal and written) and presentation skills, and the ability to function effectively in stressful or crisis situations.
Ability to work independently and on a team.
Applies nursing and team process.
Good organizational skills.
Must have neat handwriting, printing and documentation skills.
Must flex schedule to include some evening, night and weekend hours based on the needs of the position.
Computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
RN license from the Nevada State Nursing Board.
CT, CPR, BLS – Basic Life Support – AHA.
Preferred Qualifications
MSN desired.
CT CWOCN – Current Board Certification in Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing desired.
