Registered Nurse University Freestanding ED PRN Location: HCA Florida Brandon Hospital, 400‑bed acute care facility in Brandon, FL.

Job Summary The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered care in the university freestanding emergency department on a PRN basis.

Responsibilities

Assess patient pain regularly and manage pain interventions.

Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document care in the patient medical record promptly and thoroughly.

Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipating and resolving needs proactively.

Teach patients/families/caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow‑up measures.

Educate patients/families about non‑medicinal follow‑up such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes. Prepare patients and families for future self‑management.

Qualifications

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 6 months of employment start date.

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

NIH Stroke Scale obtained within 6 months of employment start date.

Non‑violent Crisis Intervention obtained within 6 months of employment start date.

Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Registered Nurse (Bachelors or Associate Degree) credential.
