What You’ll Do
As a member of an interdisciplinary mental health treatment team, responsible for assigned mental health interventions for a caseload of mentally ill criminal offenders.
Conduct detailed mental health screens, risk assessments, and suicide watch assessments as allowed by credentialing board, ODRC policy, and direct consultation with an independently licensed mental health professional.
Deliver individual and group clinical interventions and psychosocial group interventions as prescribed on the individual mental health treatment plan, within scope of practice and directed by supervision.
Serve as a mental health liaison for an assigned caseload, monitoring offender progress toward treatment plan goals.
Complete psychosocial needs and treatment assessments as part of interdisciplinary treatment planning, including transfer and discharge summaries.
Consult with other institutional staff on inmate adjustment and service needs.
Initiate and maintain contact with families and community agencies.
Access information relevant to patient care and treatment, and make appropriate community referrals.
Write reports and documents, including electronic documentation of inmate contacts, mental health liaison progress notes, discharge plans, and other required forms.
Attend supervision meetings, in‑service training sessions, workshops, and may be assigned to teach in‑service sessions.
Licensure Requirements
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) by the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
or Licensed Social Worker (LSW) by the same board.
Starting Pay Approximate starting pay of $71,000 based on location.
