Job Responsibilities
Develop and deliver medical nutrition therapy to patients based on patient needs and standard processes.
Assess nutritional status, determine nutritional requirements, and set appropriate goals according to established standards.
Institute appropriate type of nutrition support and evaluate outcome of medical nutritional therapy.
Adjust medical nutrition therapy by recommending and initiating appropriate changes in delivery of nutrients to achieve established outcomes.
Provide appropriate nutrition intervention and education/instruction to patients/families.
Participate in quality control/quality assurance activities within department.
Participate in nutrition research and/or projects.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure integrated care.
Serve as a nutrition resource, educator, and consultant for patient’s health care professionals, students, and the community.
Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Minimum Education and/or Training
Master's degree in nutrition or a related field including an ACEND-approved dietetic internship required.
Minimum Experience
Minimum Experience: 3+ years of experience in clinical dietetics required.
Clinical experience in a pediatrics/hospital setting preferred.
Proven performance in earlier/comparable role.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by Law
Licenses/Certificates (Preferred):
Certification in Nutrition Support by the American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition
Board Certification as a Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
Board Certification as a Specialist in Oncology Nutrition by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners
Certified Clinical Research Associate by the Society of Clinical Research Associates preferred
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by SJCRH Only
Dietitian/Nutritionist License (LDN‑TN) by State of Tennessee Division of Health‑Related Boards required.
Registered as a Dietitian/Nutritionist (LC: CDRAND‑RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics required.
Compensation In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $60,320 - $105,040 per year for the role of Clinical Dietitian II.
