CMHA is looking to hire a Full‑time, 1st shift Recovery Specialist for our Residential PV5 program. This position will be located at 66 Clinic Dr., New Britain, CT 06051. Sunday – Thursday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM.
Compensation Range:
The salary range for this position starts at $20 an hour. Compensation for each position is determined not only by years of relevant experience, education, and skills, but also by maintaining internal pay equity. CMHA also takes into consideration our benefits and paid time off package to provide a well‑rounded and competitive approach to the applicant’s overall compensation.
Position Summary The Recovery Specialist serves as case manager to support, teach, advocate, and empower clients with mental health, medical and substance use needs. This includes developing person‑centered recovery goals to live, learn, socialize, work and maintain health and wellness in the community.
Provides advocacy, support and guidance with contacting external organizations (Social Security, DSS, DCF, DMHAS, etc).
Educates clients to utilize emergency and community resources to help meet basic needs.
Works with clients to teach life skills necessary to live independently in the community, including assisting with finances and entitlements, supporting the development of activities of daily living, nutrition, housing maintenance and repair, and prompting to encourage task completion.
Collaborates and integrates with other CMHA teams to ensure all services provided to client are communicated with entire treatment team.
Assures timely documentation is maintained in accordance with CMHA policies and procedures, including but not limited to progress notes, treatment plans, authorizations, program orientation, and consent to treat, activity logs, and monthly targeted case management notes. Maintains appropriate caseload as determined by CMHA and funder.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a mental health related field preferred or equivalent experience.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Will become certified in MANDT, First Aid, and CPR.
Participate in training courses on an annual basis, as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Beginner to intermediate experience with Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook.
Experience in or willingness to learn how to use an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
