About the Position:
TravelNurseSource is partnering with Magnet Medical to find a qualified Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) in Laurinburg, North Carolina, 28352. As an OR RN, you will play a crucial role in the surgical team, providing direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. You will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective surgical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Preoperative Preparation: assess patient histories, verify surgical consent, review medications, and prepare patients physically and emotionally.
Intraoperative Nursing Care: prepare the OR environment, assist with anesthesia, monitor vitals, and assist with positioning.
Surgical Assistance and Instrumentation: anticipate surgeon needs, pass instruments, maintain sterile technique.
Patient Advocacy and Safety: advocate for safety and comfort, monitor responses, intervene promptly.
Postoperative Care and Monitoring: transfer to PACU, monitor vital signs, manage dressings, pain management.
Documentation and Communication: maintain accurate documentation, update team on progress.
Continuing Education: stay current with advances, participate in quality improvement.
