Rutherford Regional Health System, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Float Pool. This role embraces a vital mission dedicated to improving community health by providing exceptional care to others.

Essential Functions
Render professional nursing care to a group of assigned patients within the hospital.
Collaborate with the medical staff and other members of the health care team to provide quality patient care.
Perform all activities in accordance with approved policies and guides.
Supervise and delegate appropriate duties to ancillary personnel.
Must be willing to be trained to Med/Surg, ED, and ICU.
Complete initial and ongoing assessments.
Assessments include physical, psychosocial, environmental, self‑care abilities, educational, age‑appropriate, cultural and discharge planning needs.
Perform plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
Document patient care given.
Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
Collaborate as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Act as an advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.
Employee supervises others. Assist with orientation and training of others as directed.
Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse to practice/work in the state of NC.
Associate’s degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
1–3 years of experience preferred and recent acute‑care experience within the past 3 years preferred.
Additional Requirements
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to respond to and perform in emergent situations.
Basic Life Support (BLS).
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Handle with Care certification to be received within 30 days of orientation and kept annually.
