The Pharmacy Technician II – Infusion, under the direct supervision of the Production Manager or the Senior Director of Pharmaquip, prepares intravenous admixture solutions accurately and efficiently for clients. The Pharmacy Technician also participates in all other duties related to medication dispensing as required and reports to the Production Manager.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Knowledge
Knowledge of Pharmaquip mission, organization and procedures
Working knowledge of pharmaceutical mathematics
Knowledge of sterile technique and demonstrates aseptic technique proficiency
Knowledge of infusion nomenclature
Knowledge of safety guidelines for handling chemotherapy
Familiarity with equipment and supplies used in home infusion
Skills
Ability to calibrate and use equipment to make IV and nutrition solutions
Proficiency with computers for data entry and manipulation
Ability to shift between projects quickly as workload demands
High-volume work capability with minimal errors
Accuracy in record-keeping for all performed work
Strong attention to detail, strict adherence to protocols
Self-directed within technical practice limits; self-starter
Teamwork within the pharmacy department and with internal customs of JHHCG
Required Licensure, Certification, Etc.
Technician certification and registration with the Maryland Board of Pharmacy required
Work Experience
Six months experience in the last three years as a home infusion or hospital technician required
Salary Range:
Minimum $17.82/hour – Maximum $29.43/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. Where salary discussions are needed, they will occur during candidate screening before subsequent discussions.
