The primary function of this position is to receive and process patient specimens, delivering them to the appropriate departments, ensuring specimens and requisitions are correctly labeled, validating requisitions against orders in the system, processing specimens for reference laboratories, ensuring results are sent to the proper providers, investigating and resolving problem specimens, answering and making phone calls, faxing results, accessing patient requisitions/labels, maintaining workflow at a smooth pace, and assisting with supply chain and inventory.
