RN Clinical Nurse II (Per Diem)-Radiation Oncology Clinic

Experienced RN (Per Diem) needed for Radiation Oncology Clinic. It is a per‑diem position with a minimum of 8 hours each week, Monday through Friday dayshift. Preference is given to nurses with brachytherapy experience in Radiation Oncology. Per‑diem RN will perform vital roles in patient rooming, coordinating care with providers, patient education, weekly nursing assessment for status checks, and addressing patient care needs. The unique oncology population requires specialized oncology experience and skills to address complicated symptom management needs resulting from cancer treatments. Summary

Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Reports to the Nurse Manager/Director, is accountable for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting. Responsibilities

Education – participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self, attends education programs, uses patient education materials relevant to the population, and assesses readiness to learn for patients/families/caregivers. Evaluation of Care – identifies expected patient outcomes, seeks guidance in revising plan of care, participates in interdisciplinary team evaluation, and communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care. Implementation – demonstrates competence in caring for patients with complex problems, performs bedside point‑of‑care testing, utilizes organizational and nursing standards, policies, and procedures, organizes and prioritizes care, and consults resources timely. Leadership – develops goals for professional growth, collaborates on unit goals and performance improvement, promotes cost‑effective care, gives feedback, and upholds public policy and regulatory guidelines. Patient Assessment – synthesizes assessment data, prioritizes care, anticipates discharge needs, and builds relationships with families. Planning – collaborates with patient/family to prepare or update the plan of care, utilizes multidisciplinary resources, addresses cultural and ethnic issues, and prioritizes tasks for complex patients. Research – reads relevant journals, brings ideas to staff for assessment of applicability. Education Requirements

Graduation from a school of professional nursing. Licensure/Certification Requirements

Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina. BLS for Healthcare Provider certification. Professional Experience Requirements
