Job Summary and Qualifications
Assist the Paramedic in rendering safe and effective treatment and transport of patients on Interfacility Transport Services’ ambulance.
Respond to Interfacility Transport Call‑Center requests and coordinate with other healthcare providers for appropriate transport.
Work within both free‑standing and main Emergency Departments, providing quality care under the direction of a Paramedic or RN.
Perform duties identified in job description, approved medical protocols, and departmental policy; validate skills through competency assessments.
Report to the Chief of Interfacility Transport Operations, communicate, document, and participate in meetings, education, and in‑services as required.
Maintain positive working relationships with patients, visitors, physicians, co‑workers, and hospital staff.
Responsibilities
Operate emergency medical vehicle and respond to calls for aid in emergent situations.
Evaluate patient condition to establish appropriate treatment.
Provide a variety of emergency medical treatments to injured, sick, or incapacitated persons.
Perform invasive procedures under adverse conditions.
Manage non‑medical situations such as crowd control and protect patient valuables when necessary.
Lift and transport patients, ensuring stability during transport.
Communicate patient data and condition to professional medical personnel at emergency treatment facilities.
Qualifications Associate’s Degree in Emergency Medical Services/Paramedic or completion certificate in EMS (EMT/Paramedic) is required.
Florida Driver’s license – active and in good standing
Florida EMT license required
BLS – American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider issued card required
FEMA‑100, 200, 700, 800 preferred
EVOC certification required within 60 days of employment
