Lab Technician – PPG
Apply now for the Lab Technician role at PPG. As a Lab Technician, you will contribute to the development and fundamental understanding of new coatings within the Decorative Coatings Formulation team at PPG's Coatings Innovation Center. You will work with other technicians, chemists, engineers, and project leaders to prepare paints and coatings.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct experimental work such as the formulation preparation, application, and testing of coatings.
Complete physical testing on liquid paints and coated panels, including viscosity, rheology, adhesion, scratch resistance, hardness, gloss, color, sag, flow and leveling, and more.
Build experiments with guidance from supervisor or senior members of the project team.
Collect data and detailed accounts of results in an electronic laboratory notebook. Interpret data and make recommendations for future work. Communicate results through written and verbal summaries.
Apply technical know-how according to established procedures and precedents to recommend alternative solutions to problems to pursue project goals.
Work safely with hazardous materials daily, follow rigorous safety procedures, and wear personal protective equipment including the occasional use of a respirator.
Qualifications
High school education with high school chemistry experience.
Mechanical and mathematical skills.
0+ years of hands‑on laboratory experience.
