Job Description

Operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment and perform procedures on various anatomical internal organs, vessels, fluid accumulations, masses, and developing fetuses.

Report preliminary findings, measurements, and diagnoses to the appropriate personnel (Radiologist or Cardiologist).

Record scanned ultrasound images and transfer them to the imaging system for interpretation after verifying quality.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required.

Current credential: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS); or Registered Technologist with Sonography Designation (R.T.(S)(ARRT)) by ARRT; or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). One-year new graduate registration acceptable.

For Radiology department: ARDMS abdomen or OB/GYN registry required within 12 months of hire; advanced certification in Sonography (R.T.(S)) required within 12 months of hire; registered vascular technology (RVT), vascular sonography (VS), or Vascular Specialist (RVS) required within 24 months of hire.
