Position Summary
Temporary Part‑Time Faculty (Adjunct) member to teach nursing courses in Spring 2026 at UNM‑Taos. The posting is primarily for hybrid instruction ( These positions will be hired on an as‑needed basis depending on student enrollment, course offering matrix, and graduation requirements. Specific courses include, but are not limited to, NMNC 1220, a Level 2 course that introduces students to the attributes of the health care participant as an individual, family, or community.
The course includes the following learning outcomes:
Recognize and assess diverse patients' values, beliefs, and attitudes related to health.
Apply safety measures to well patient populations.
Implement evidence‑based practices in care of well populations across the lifespan.
Adhere to policies and procedures in healthcare delivery settings.
Communicates with other healthcare providers to meet the needs of well patients.
Utilize informatics for well patient care.
Base salary of $1,135.26 to $1,227.89 per credit hour, depending on qualifications. This posting is for hybrid delivery.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in Nursing
Current unopposed New Mexico license as a registered nurse or approved multistate license
Minimum of 2 years prior experience working as a registered nurse
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a nurse educator
Teaching experience in a post‑secondary institution, particularly community college experience
Professional certification related to nursing and/or nursing education
Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and student success
Demonstrated ability to work in a professional and collaborative team environment
A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities.
