Responsibilities
Oversight of delivery of patient care and customer service, ensuring timely resolution of concerns.
Supervision of all technical radiological functions including patient imaging and image‑quality management.
Enforcement of regulatory measures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Monitoring equipment performance and promptly reporting any failures or needed repairs.
Joint forecasting of staffing, capital and budgetary needs.
Analysis and determination of appropriate staffing to support clinical services while ensuring efficiency and maximizing resources.
Oversight of human resource activities such as interviewing, hiring, training, payroll verification and employee performance management.
Provision of direct patient care in accordance with incumbent’s education and/or licensure.
Purchasing of medical and office supplies.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.
Demonstrated human‑relation and effective communication skills.
Ability to provide care appropriate to the population served.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served on his or her assigned unit.
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of life‑span growth and development and ability to assess data regarding the patient’s status and provide care as described in the department’s policies and procedures manual.
Qualifications
Three (3) years of technical experience or the equivalency.
Licenses Required
Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system (to be obtained within 30 days of hire).
Current licensure to practice as a Radiologic Technologist in the State of Utah.
One of the following
ARRT (CI)
ARRT Registration as Magnetic Resonance Imaging R.T. (MR) (ARRT).
ARRT Registration as a Radiologic Technologist R.T. (R) (ARRT).
ARRT Registration for Vascular Interventional Radiography R.T. (VI)(ARRT).
* Additional license requirements as determined by the hiring department.
Preferred Qualifications (Preferred)
One (1) year of supervisory experience.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation.
Intermediate working conditions in a healthcare setting that may exert up to 50 pounds and may consistently require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving patients or objects such as medical equipment, while providing patient care.
