Help us ensure that our Springfield District Office‑serving communities in parts of Windham and Windsor counties are healthy places to live, learn, work, and play. We are seeking a Public Health Nurse Supervisor to oversee community‑level immunization and infectious disease prevention efforts with a strong focus on advancing health equity. This role includes supervision of program staff and plans, supervises, coordinates, and evaluates the work of staff engaged in the full scope of professional public health nursing.

Responsibilities

Leading community and population‑based interventions

Overseeing licensed care management services

Guiding data collection, analysis, and program planning

Directing outreach, health promotion activities, and prevention strategies

Supporting efforts to mitigate disease and foster healthy lifestyles

Performing related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Possession of or eligibility for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont or eligibility to practice in the state of Vermont via a multi‑state license AND five (5) years or more of professional nursing experience in public health or community health nursing, including one (1) year or more at a supervisory level or leading a group or team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Community Health Nursing, including school nursing, home health nursing, home visiting nurses, and community nurse health educators.

Telework State of Vermont telework policy requires at least three days a week working in the office. The Department of Health supports a hybrid work environment which combines both in‑person and remote work. Upon hire, employees work with their supervisor to create a schedule that aligns with the business needs of the unit and complies with State of Vermont policy.
