Post Doctoral Scientist – Virology/Immunology
Nationwide Children’s Hospital
Overview Dr. Zongdi Feng’s lab studies hepatitis virus life cycle and pathogenesis. HEV causes both acute and persistent infections in humans, resulting in significant morbidity and mortality. We study how HEV enters, replicates, and exits from the cell, and how it activates and counteracts the host immune responses to achieve a successful infection. The lab is also interested in understanding how other hepatotropic viruses such as HAV, HBV, HDV, and CMV infect hepatocytes and identifying common and unique virus‑host interactions and methods for intervention. The lab embraces newer tools such as liver organoids and artificial intelligence to decipher complex biological processes. Read more at this link Zongdi Feng.
