Job Summary Under the supervision of a Radiologist & Radiology Supervisor performs diagnostic radiographic procedures on patients. Cleans and maintains equipment and prepares patient records.
Job Qualifications
Education: Associate of Science Degree in Radiologic Science.
Personal Job Related Skills: Knowledge of radiologic equipment and effective oral and written communication skills.
Licensure Registry or Certification: Registered with ARRT, or registry eligible, and a Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist by the Texas Medical Board. Technologist must also keep CE credits up-to-date per ARRT guidelines.
Experience: CT experience preferred.
Physical And Sensory Requirements
Position requires intermittent walking, sitting and standing. Some bending, stooping and reaching required with the lifting up to 50 pounds and occasional heavy lifting in supporting or moving patients that may suddenly become weak or helpless.
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress of the position.
Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of the position can be fully met.
Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with patients, providers, personnel, and support agencies.
May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of patients during emergency situations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of a Radiologist and Radiology Director performs diagnostic radiologic procedures on patients.
Maintains equipment and necessary levels of radiology supplies.
Maintains patient records and reports.
Other Significant And Shift Specific Requirements
Must be willing to work a full 8 hour shift, as scheduled, unless prior approval has been given.
Maintains positive patient and technologist relationship.
Interacts with Medical Staff members on a continuous basis.
Follows aseptic procedures and precautions when involved in direct patient contact or handling potentially infectious materials.
Become family with hospital protocols that directly pertain to the radiology department.
Accurately document all exams on the daily log.
All exams must be sent to the radiologist in a timely manner. If not, technologist must send and contact Night Rays.
Willingness and ability to fill in and work various shifts when deemed necessary.
Adheres to Clay County Memorial Hospital personnel policies.
Performs any other task deemed necessary by Radiology Director or Hospital Administrator.
