Join Eagle View Community Health System as a Certified Medical Assistant. Positions are full‑time and offered at a competitive hourly wage.
Pay Range $17.00/hr – $25.00/hr (actual pay based on skills and experience)
Scope of Work – Responsibilities
Provides care within the parameters of an LPN license or Medical Assisting diploma/certification under the supervision of the health care provider.
Conducts assessment within guidelines established by the Nurse Practice Act or medical assistant training.
Directs patient management activities through triage to determine priority need for care and reports findings to provider.
Assists with referral of patients to hospitals, specialists, and enabling services; communicates patient health information to designated provider.
Performs appropriate care in assisting the provider in diagnosis and treatment.
Observes and corrects, if possible, environmental factors for patient comfort and safety.
Performs all office clinical functions: prepares patient for examinations and procedures, answers questions, performs routine laboratory work, gives injections, measures blood pressure, height, weight, and checks vision.
Elicits and records medical histories, maintains clinical records in the electronic health record.
Assesses and records vital signs and clinical observations in electronic health record.
Prepares patient exam room and equipment for each appointment.
Provides treatment and assists with office procedures as ordered by the provider.
Orders medical and laboratory supplies, checks equipment, completes daily sign‑off log.
Performs office laboratory tests in compliance with CLIA regulations, prepares specimens for lab, maintains lab log.
Provides appropriate patient follow‑up as ordered by the provider.
Maintains cleanliness of all clinical areas, washes and sterilizes work areas and equipment.
Performs emergency care and CPR in an outpatient setting per facility protocol.
Records and reports data as required by various governmental agencies.
Participates in staff meetings/facility committees.
Supports the ongoing performance improvement/risk management program to maintain and improve quality of patient care.
Participates in continuing education and in‑service programs.
Completes medication refills per EVCHS policy and procedures.
Completes prior authorizations as needed for referrals and medications.
Orders DME supplies for patients under provider order.
Ensures timely rooming of patients.
Obtains consents for record of outside provider visits, labs, procedures, diagnostics.
Work Location
Primary work site assigned; may be asked to work at another site if needed.
Administrative employees and contracted service providers may work from home as needed.
Providers may utilize Telehealth during regular business hours when licensed in that state.
Employees are not required to perform work outside their job description or capabilities.
Qualifications
Education: LPN from accredited program or Medical Assisting graduate.
Experience: Minimum educational experiences required.
License/Certification: Licensure in Illinois as a registered nurse or LPN; temporary license acceptable while awaiting Illinois license. CMA or RMA preferred.
Skills: Ability to analyze and interpret patient signs, provide care to diverse health problems, perform phlebotomy, prepare and administer injections, accurate medication management.
Physical Demands: Regular sitting, handling, reaching, talking, hearing; standing, walking, climbing, kneeling; lifting 10+ lbs; visual requirements; motor vehicle operation.
