Job Description The Lab Technician will be responsible for improving the capabilities of the analytical laboratory by performing sample preparation, instrument standardization, and data reporting to provide results in accordance with Standard Laboratory Procedures.
Responsibilities
Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation.
Provide accurate and timely testing of material samples from melting furnaces, ingot slices, receiving inspection, and special analytical requests.
Collect, prepare, analyze, and report metals chemistry data.
Coordinate testing efforts with other laboratory technicians and laboratory customers (internal and external).
Verify sample identity, confirm testing requirements, track sample progress and location, ensure completion of required analysis, and assist laboratory customers with analytical requirements when appropriate.
Education and Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic knowledge of chemistry required.
Minimum 1‑year experience in a similar laboratory environment.
Preferred Experience Previous analytical experience is preferred.
Special Considerations This position may require applicants to be U.S. Persons (U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) or eligible to obtain the required export authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or the U.S. Department of Commerce under ITAR and EAR regulations.
