Summary of Job Duties: This position is for a Medical Laboratory Scientist I within the Cell Therapy Lab at UAMS. This position is responsible for processing, freezing, and storing hematopoietic progenitor cells (HPC), as well as participating in the thawing and transplant of these cells for cancer patients.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or other science related field

Eligible for ASCP Certification. Must obtain certification within 1 year of eligibility.

Job Requirements

This position performs high complexity testing on both patient samples and HPC products.

This position is responsible for completing all paperwork with 100% accuracy.

The staff member will perform Quality Control and Preventive Maintenance on equipment in the Cell Therapy Lab.

The staff member is expected to follow all rules and regulations established by the Cell Therapy Lab to maintain compliance with FDA, FACT, and other accrediting agencies.

The staff member will assist the supervisor with inspections, audits, and other duties as necessary.

Perform other duties as needed.
