This position is a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, responsible for the provision of medical nutrition therapy for assigned patient populations. The clinical dietitian collaborates with the Culinary Services department to ensure patient nutrition needs are met and functions as a community resource for nutrition information and education. The clinical dietitian actively participates in team managerial functions and consults with patients on nutritional needs.
Responsibilities
Assist with development/implementation of policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services.
Assist with recommending a sufficient number of qualified and competent staff to provide department services in support of provision.
Assist with patient diets.
Maintain registered dietitian (RD) status.
Be knowledgeable of the principles and practices of dietetics and nutrition.
Assist with in‑services education for the Culinary Services department.
Collaborate with the Neonatologist/NNP to plan diets that meet the special needs of neonates and infants.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Food and Nutrition.
Must be a Registered Dietitian and maintain active status as a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Must have an active Dietitian license with the state of Texas.
Preferred active membership in the American Dietetic Association.
1–2 years of pediatric or neonatal experience.
BLS/CPR Certification (upon hire or within 90 days of employment).
Demonstrate competent administrative and leadership skills, with knowledge of the development and nutrition needs of neonates/infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Knowledge of TJC and Medicare standards affecting nutritional services.
Must possess the ability to prioritize responsibilities and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Locations: Frisco, TX; McKinney, TX; Irving, TX.
