Good Samaritan invites applicants for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) local traveler position located in Kearney, NE. The role will provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages across multiple long‑term care facilities within a 150‑mile radius of the permanent address.

8 hours – varied shifts (8 AM‑6 PM and 6 PM‑2 AM)
Job schedule:
PRN
Weekly hours:
Varies – minimum of 30 hours per month and at least one weekend shift per month
Salary:
$24.00–$36.00 per hour
$5.00 premium per hour for all hours worked
$1.25 premium per hour for weekend shifts
$1.25 premium per hour for evening/night shifts (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
Travel:
Required to support multiple locations; mileage reimbursement provided
Job Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. Responsibilities include patient assessment, medication administration, direct patient care, documentation of resident interactions, and coordination with interdisciplinary teams. The LPN performs diagnostic testing, recognizes problems, and implements solutions as part of emergency care, while maintaining confidentiality and promoting resident education toward self-care.
Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as an LPN; associate degree preferred
Minimum of 18 years of age and a valid LPN license in the state of practice, with multi‑state privileges accepted
At least 3 months of experience in long-term care (6 months preferred) or 400 hours of LPN experience at another facility
Completed a pre-licensure nursing program with supervised clinical experience across the lifespan, or 400 hours of supervised LPN practice
Current, unencumbered LPN license; possession of state or multi-state licensure privileges
Completed required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training for the department and facility
If IV therapy is required, completion of a board-approved AASPN program that includes IV therapy or an approved IV Therapy course by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
Strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team
Willingness to travel within 150-mile radius and adhere to the required travel schedule and mileage reimbursement policy
