RN Clinical Nurse II – Emergency Department

Summary Providing competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting, and accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director.
Responsibilities
Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs, attends education programs, uses patient education materials, and assesses readiness to learn.
Identifies expected patient outcomes, seeks guidance for plan of care, discusses evaluation with interdisciplinary team and communicates relevant information.
Demonstrates competence in care of patients with complex problems, performs bedside point‑of‑care testing, applies policies and procedures, prioritizes care, and consults resources.
Develops goals for professional growth, participates in unit goals and performance improvement, uses communication systems, promotes cost‑effective care, gives feedback, remains aware of public policy, and ensures a safe hospital environment.
Recognizes data from complex situations, synthesizes assessment data, anticipates discharge needs, and builds relationships with families.
Collaborates with patient/family to prepare or update plan of care, uses multidisciplinary resources, and addresses cultural and ethnic considerations.
Reads current journals, brings ideas to staff for practice improvement.
Other Information
Education Requirements:
Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Registered Nurse license in North Carolina; Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
Professional Experience Requirements:
One year of nursing experience.
