Salary $26.57 - $39.86 Hourly
$55,273 - $82,909 Annually

Why does the job exist? This position is an entry level position focusing on developing the nursing skills necessary to transition into a primary care nurse position. The role provides, but is not limited to, nursing services for individuals who are developmentally disabled. The incumbent may complete assessments of the physical, mental, and emotional needs of individuals; implement health‑care plans and crisis plans as appropriate; complete documentation; administer medications to medical‑fragile individuals and/or others in the program as needed; coordinate medical services with other members of the clinical team; and address any changes in the medical condition of the individual.
This position will also provide ongoing training to house staff. It will require working shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on‑call hours as needed.
Ideal Candidate
Experience working with developmentally disabled individuals
Experience developing and monitoring patient care plans
Experience with electronic charting
Experience working with multidisciplinary teams
Minimum Qualification Must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico, or eligibility for such licensure in accordance with New Mexico requirements, or eligibility for a temporary license issued for employment at a specific institution in New Mexico, or a Graduate Nurse with a permit‑to‑practice.
Employment Requirements This position is designated as safety sensitive. Employment is subject to pre‑employment and random testing in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules, and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing. Employment is subject to nationwide criminal background check and is conditional pending results.
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License and a current Defensive Driving Certification from the State of New Mexico, or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions Work is performed in the homes of community‑based consumers with noise levels ranging from moderate to loud. Position requires the ability to lift, push, pull, transfer, and/or carry up to 50 pounds without assistance and up to 100 pounds with assistance. Local daily driving for outreach, travel to training sessions, and meetings with occasional overnight stays is required. Specific geographic location for this position will vary depending on agency needs and utilization.
