Assistant Controller About the Role We are seeking an

Assistant Controller

to support the Controller in managing financial and accounting operations for a growing organization. This role offers exposure to financial reporting, compliance, taxation, and operational accounting across multiple locations and entities. Ideal candidates will have 2–5 years of experience and a desire to grow into leadership over time.

Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Compliance

Assist in maintaining financial records in accordance with US GAAP and internal policies.

Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies.

Assist with lease accounting under ASC 842 and coordinate audits.

Prepare reports for banks, auditors, vendors, and insurance providers.

Accounting Operations & Internal Controls

Oversee AP, AR, and treasury functions for accuracy and efficiency.

Review and reconcile general ledger accounts.

Assist with multi-state taxation, including sales and use tax returns.

Collaborate with external CPA firms for compliance.

Support implementation and monitoring of internal controls.

Budgeting & Financial Analysis

Assist with annual budgeting and financial forecasting.

Prepare analyses for KPIs, capital expenditures, and operational performance.

Business Partnering & Support

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial processes with operations.

Provide guidance on expenses, budgets, and best practices.

Assist with integrating acquisitions into the financial framework.

Support process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics required.

2–5 years of progressive accounting experience; multi-location experience preferred.

Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.

Technical Skills

Experience with ERP systems (Sage Intacct or similar).

Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).

Familiarity with PowerBI for reporting is a plus.
