BluePearl Pet Hospital - Brooklyn We are seeking skilled Licensed Veterinary Technicians to join our fast‑paced ICU + Critical Care team. You will work alongside top veterinary professionals, handling diverse, life‑saving cases that enhance your skills and impact pets’ lives.

Sign‑On Bonus This position is eligible for up to a $20k sign‑on bonus.

Schedule Thurs‑Sat + EO Wed, 7pm – 7am

Pay $30.00 – $51.00 / hour + competitive hourly shift differentials. Pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience.

Shift Differentials

Mon‑Fri, 6pm – 8am: +$4.50/hr

Sat & Sun, 8am – 6pm: +$4.50/hr

Sat & Sun, 6pm – 8am: +$8.00/hr

Job Responsibilities

Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.

Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital, including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.

Perform digital radiography using proper technique and positioning of patients.

Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.

Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert the Veterinarian to changes and issues.

Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.

Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.

Be proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.

Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.

Have a passion for mentoring and training other co‑workers.

Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.

Additional VTS benefits for pursuing & established VTS technicians

Continuing Education Plan $500/year reimbursement for CVT and $750/year for VTS. The allowance can roll over up to $1,500 for CVT and VTS associates. Non‑credentialed full‑time paraprofessionals are eligible for an annual CE stipend of $150. Full‑time CVT associates receive 8 hours of CE paid hours each year. Full‑time VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year. Paid CE hours can be carried over year to year up to a maximum of 24 hours. Newly hired associates will receive a pro‑rated amount of any CE benefit for which they are eligible.
