Ellis Medicine is seeking a full‑time skilled GYN surgeon to become the third member of our practice in the Capital Region. This hospital‑employed role offers a supportive environment with a flexible schedule and a highly competitive compensation model based on general surgery benchmarks.
About Us Ellis Medicine serves Albany, Saratoga, and Schenectady Counties, committed to addressing the unique health needs of our community through specialized gynecologic care. We offer a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient services and are expanding our Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) practice.
Position Details Consultative Only: Focus exclusively on surgical consultations; no annual or routine visits.
High Volume: Our practice has expanded significantly, necessitating an additional surgeon to meet the needs of our extensive referral base covering a large geographic area.
Fertility and Reproductive Surgery: Work closely with local reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI) specialists.
Procedures
Resection of deeply infiltrating endometriosis
Complex myomectomies
Tubal microsurgery
Metroplasty
Schedule & Call Flexible Schedule: Options for full‑time or part‑time positions.
Office responsibilities: 1–2 days per week.
Limited Call Coverage: Call is restricted to our established surgical patients.
Ample OR time: Significant OR time, including robotic surgery, available 1–2 days per week.
Collaborative Environment: Work alongside specialists in minimally invasive urology, colorectal, cardiothoracic surgery, and gynecologic oncology.
Requirements
Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery is preferred.
Interest in fertility‑related surgery.
Commitment to delivering high‑quality, compassionate care.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Recruitment Package Competitive base salary with earning potential through RVU‑based productivity incentives and quality performance bonuses.
Starting salary range: $405k‑430k (total compensation starting range; does not include bonuses, incentives, or other cash compensation).
Health, vision, and dental insurance.
Paid malpractice coverage, including post‑employment tail coverage.
Continuing Medical Education (CME) time and expense allowance.
Paid time away from practice.
Two‑part retirement savings program with employer matching.
