Position Overview The Charter School of Wilmington is seeking an exceptional Girls’ Lacrosse Varsity Assistant Coach and Girls’ Lacrosse JV Coach to lead and develop our lacrosse program. The successful candidates will build a culture of commitment, excellence, and care while supporting the physical, mental, and personal growth of student athletes.
These are seasonal positions reporting to the Athletic Director.
Application Deadline: February 15, 2026
Start Date: March 31, 2026
Key Responsibilities Plan and conduct practices up to five (5) days per week based on game schedules.
Coach and supervise all practices and games, including weekday and Saturday competitions.
Demonstrate exemplary sportsmanship and serve as a positive role model at all times, in and out of season.
Establish and enforce appropriate team policies and expectations on and off the field.
Instruct, motivate, and mentor student athletes to compete at their highest potential.
Help student athletes understand how training, discipline, and competitive habits contribute to personal development.
Complete and maintain all required coaching certifications through DIAA and NFHS.
Monitor the distribution, care, and return of all team-issued uniforms and equipment.
Continue professional growth through clinics, seminars, online training, and sport-specific education.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or administration.
Qualifications Experience coaching or playing lacrosse at the high school or collegiate level
Ability to work effectively with high school student athletes
Willingness to obtain all required state and athletic association certifications
Prior head or assistant coaching experience preferred
CPR/First Aid certification
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Salary will be computed in accordance with the experience and training of the selected individual. Direct deposit of payroll checks is mandatory for state employment.
Notes A criminal background check, Delaware Child Protection Registry check, and tuberculin test are required.
