Occupational Safety Manager - Berlin, NJ
Our manufacturing client is seeking a dedicated and experienced full-time Occupational Safety Manager to join their team in Berlin, NJ. This is an on-site position with relocation assistance available within the US. This role is one of over 50 EHS positions we are currently recruiting for nationwide, many of which are confidential.
About the Role As the Occupational Safety Manager, you will be a key leader, responsible for the overall direction and oversight of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programs, strategy, and staff activities. You will design, develop, implement, and continuously improve OHS practices, policies, and procedures to ensure the highest levels of protection for employees and company assets, while collaborating with operations and business leaders to achieve peak operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on federal, state, and local OHS regulations, partnering with operations leadership and the general workforce.
Interpret and apply OHS regulations, aligning corporate and local OHS goals and strategies.
Lead OHS audits and inspections, developing and implementing remediation plans.
Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with federal, state, and local regulators.
Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives for OHS policies and programs.
Manage budgetary responsibilities effectively.
Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local OHS regulations.
Develop and lead employee training programs on OHS behaviors and compliance.
Minimum Requirements
Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Industrial Management, or a related technical discipline.
Five (5) or more years of OHS facility management experience in a manufacturing environment, with a proven track record of reducing health and safety metrics.
Demonstrated success in leading and managing teams of OHS professionals.
Experience managing departmental budgets.
Proven ability to act as a change agent.
