Assistant Professor in Emergency Medicine – Regular Part‑Time (0.50 FTE). Requisition ID: 2025-37086. Position Category: Faculty/Provider. Salary Range: $313,785 annually. Location: Oregon Health & Science University – Portland, OR.
Department Overview The Department of Emergency Medicine at OHSU includes over 150 faculty and adjunct faculty. The team serves OHSU’s Level 1 Trauma Center, Doernbecher Pediatric ED, and three community EDs (Hillsboro Medical Center, Adventist Health Portland, Columbia Memorial Hospital). The department hosts three observation units, Immediate Care Virtual Visits Program, and the Oregon Poison Center. OHSU offers residency and fellowships in Research, Education, Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Administration, EMS, Toxicology, and Ultrasound. Our mission is Healing, Teaching, and Discovery.
Function / Duties Act as an attending physician in the Emergency Department (including observation unit and pediatric services). Responsibilities include
Participating in education of medical students, residents, and nursing staff.
Providing clinical care, including history, physical exams, stabilization, and disposition of patients.
Engaging in quality assurance activities and online medical consultation.
Performing administrative duties and serving on institutional committees as needed.
Required Qualifications
Education:
MD or equivalent; Emergency Medicine Residency Certificate.
Experience:
Clinical and academic experience in Emergency Medicine.
Competencies:
Ability to manage heavy workload, communicate effectively, and use EMR and office software. Demonstrated compliance with performance standards.
Registrations, Certifications and Licenses
ABEM or ABOEM Board certified or board eligible.
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – required until board certification achieved.
Current Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) – completed at least once.
Unlimited Oregon MD (or equivalent) license prior to start date.
Registered with FDA and authorized to prescribe medications.
