Donor Relations Director
Relationship-Focused Fundraising | Team-Based Development Role

We equip and empower young people (ages 14-24) to achieve stability and life transformation through trusted relationships, basic needs, and pathways forward. Why This Role This role is ideal for someone currently working in donor relations or annual giving who wants to go deeper in relationship-based fundraising without having to manage communications, social media, or event logistics. You'll be part of a strong development team where roles are clear and support is built in, allowing you to focus on donors and impact.
Position Summary The Donor Relations Director is a highly relational role responsible for cultivating and stewarding mid-level donors and advancing Outreach's annual fundraising goals. You will manage a donor portfolio, build meaningful relationships, and invite supporters into deeper engagement with Outreach's mission. This role collaborates closely with Communications, Marketing, Direct Mail, and Events teams and reports to the Chief Development Officer.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of mid-level donors through personal outreach and strategic follow-up
Meet regularly with donors and prospects, including conducting site tours and one-on-one visits
Strengthen donor retention and engagement, especially among first-time and mid-level donors
Support annual fund strategies in partnership with development leadership
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure consistent donor experience (without owning those functions)
Track donor interactions, giving trends, and reports using the CRM system
Participate in staff meetings, supervision, trainings, and key organizational events
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required (equivalent experience considered)
2+ years of nonprofit fundraising or donor relations experience
Experience using a donor database or CRM
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsRelational, organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
Understanding of Christian nonprofit culture and comfort discussing faith-based work with donors
Position Details
Full-time, exempt salaried position (40 hours/week; some evenings/weekends)
Office-based with occasional local travel
Reports to the Chief Development Officer
Salary & Benefits $55,000-$65,000 annually, plus health, vision, and dental insurance; paid life insurance; 3 weeks paid vacation; 12 paid holidays; and paid sick time.
