VP of Mechanical Engineering Meade Engineering is seeking a visionary and technically exceptional
VP of Mechanical Engineering
to lead our mechanical practice across mission-critical and large-scale infrastructure projects. This executive leader will drive strategy, elevate technical delivery, and ensure world-class execution of HVAC, piping, plumbing, and fire protection systems for data centers and advanced facilities.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the Mechanical Division: Establish strategic direction, technical standards, and operational priorities across diverse markets and project types.
Oversee Mechanical Design Execution: Manage engineers, designers, and project teams to ensure high-quality, on-time, and on-budget delivery.
Ensure Technical Excellence: Oversee system design, calculations, specifications, and QA/QC processes for HVAC, chilled water, piping, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical controls.
Drive Consistency & Quality: Implement design standards, documentation protocols, and code-compliant engineering frameworks.
Collaborate Across Disciplines: Integrate mechanical solutions early in the design process with internal teams and external partners.
Serve as Client-Facing Leader: Represent the mechanical scope with clients, contractors, and major technology partners.
Develop & Mentor Talent: Build, scale, and mentor mechanical engineering teams while fostering a culture of growth and innovation.
Monitor Performance & Profitability: Establish KPIs and reporting for quality, resource allocation, and operational efficiency.
Promote Innovation: Identify opportunities in energy efficiency, sustainability, and emerging technologies such as BIM and digital twin modeling.
Ensure Compliance: Uphold all relevant codes and standards, including ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, and local regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master's preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license required
Must have served as Engineer of Record (EOR) on data center projects
Must have stamped mechanical designs, drawings, and calculations for data center facilities
12+ years of progressive mechanical engineering experience, including mission-critical or data center projects
5+ years leading technical teams, budgets, and strategic initiatives
Expertise with HVAC, chilled water, CRAC/CRAH systems, boilers, piping, fire protection, and mechanical controls
Strong experience reviewing and stamping mechanical designs
Proven leadership in multidisciplinary, high-stakes project environments
Excellent communication, client management, and executive-level presentation skills
Proficiency in Revit, and other mechanical design platforms
Familiarity with ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, and related codes
Experience driving process improvements or adopting emerging digital engineering tools
