Job Summary/Purpose Perform a variety of respiratory therapy modalities to patients with cardiac and pulmonary dysfunction
Minimum Training and Education Graduation from a program approved by CoArc (Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) or a successor accrediting authority and two years of experience in respiratory care.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations Licensed as a respiratory care practitioner by the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulations Board of Medical Examiners. Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities Perform a variety of respiratory therapy modalities to patients with cardiac and pulmonary dysfunction.
Physical Requirements Ability to perform job functions while standing (continuous), while sitting (continuous), while walking (continuous), climb stairs (infrequent), work indoors (continuous), work outside in temperature extremes (infrequent), work from elevated areas (frequent), work in confined/cramped spaces (frequent), perform from kneeling positions (infrequent), bend at the waist (continuous), twist at the waist (frequent), squat and perform job functions (frequent), perform “pinching” operations (frequent), perform gross motor activities with fingers and hands (continuous), perform firm grasping with fingers and hands (continuous), perform fine manipulation with fingers and hands (continuous), reach overhead (frequent), perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders (continuous), fully use both legs (continuous), use lower extremities for balance and coordination (frequent), reach in all directions (continuous), lift and carry 50 lbs unassisted (infrequent), lift/lower objects 50 lbs from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted (infrequent), lift from 36
