Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift Intermediate Care/Telemetry position requiring an active IL license and strong cardiac monitoring skills.
Responsibilities
Work in the Intermediate Care (IMC) unit of a Level I trauma, Magnet acute care hospital
Patient census averages 38 per day with cardiac, post-cardiac, renal, neuro, surgical, and respiratory cases
Nights, 3x12 or 4x12-hour shifts (1845-0715) with every other weekend required
Floating within scope to like units or nearby affiliate hospitals
Cerner EMR system used; Cerner experience required
Provide advanced care for complex IMC/telemetry patients including cardiac, renal, neurologic, and surgical populations
Respond to emergencies and provide advanced dysrhythmia interpretation and management
Team-based, teaching, and trauma-focused work environment
Required to float to similar units or other hospital affiliates as needed
No on-call required
Any solid color scrubs may be worn
Must work two of three major holidays if assignment spans them
5 days of non-holiday time off may be approved; additional requests require approval
Past Memorial perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
No residential radius restrictions for local candidates
Requirements
Active IL RN license required at time of application
Minimum 2 years of recent MS/Telemetry, Cardiac Tele, PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience
Current ACLS and BLS certifications from AHA or Red Cross required (RQI not accepted)
Ability to interpret/manage dysrhythmias, post-cardiac and neuro cases, and various drips
Must have experience with cardiac monitoring, hemodialysis management, surgical drains, phlebotomy, arterial/central line, IVs, wound care, and respiratory interventions such as CPAP/BIPAP, HFNC, and chest tubes
Cerner charting experience required
First-time travelers accepted
